ABOUT US
Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School is an all-Female boarding school located in Tanoso, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana, West Africa. The school was named after the Great historical revolutionary heroine and Queen mother of Ejusi, Nana Yaa Asantewaa who led the lead the Ashanti people into battle against the British. The School was founded in 1960 as part of the rapid expansion project pioneered by late Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the First president of the Republic of Ghana.
The school has consistently recorded excellent results in the final exams.
The 8 Houses in the school named after some queen mothers in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

Yaa Asantewaa Past students’ Association USA INC was founded in Newark, New Jersey in 2015.
VISION: Our vision is to involve the greatest possible number of alumni with Yaa Asantewaa Senior High School on a regular basis by creating a range of programs, and services to engage, and enrich alumni and students to support the advancement of Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior High School. Working together to foster active and engaged alumni.
Mission and Purpose: Yaa Asantewaa Past students’ Association USA INC is a non-profit organization. Its purpose is to foster, maintain and support a mutually beneficial relationship between alumni and the Alma Mater, Yaa Asantewaa Girls Senior high school.
Yaa Asantewaa Past Students Association USA INC is to promote the spirit of loyalty among graduates and former students.
To also provide opportunities and a forum for raising funding to support Yaa Asantewaa Girls SHS in educating underprivileged girls in Ghana in partnership with other global YAGSS associations. To support YAGSS (GH) as it pursues excellence as well as provides opportunities and forums for social and professional networking among its members and other fraternal organizations in the USA to represent secondary schools in Ghana.
GOALS:

To encourage alumni to participate actively in the YAGSS community, to create new ways for alumni to stay connected to OUR Alma Mater, and to contribute to the greatness of our School
